The 'Be A Good Guy' campaign is a multi-agency initiative which aims to reduce anti-social behaviour and dangerous illegal fires in the lead-up to bonfire night in St.Helens.

Working Together

A number of local agencies work together throughout the bonfire period to keep St.Helens safe - including:

  • St.Helens Borough Council
  • Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service
  • Merseyside Police
  • Torus
  • Riverside Housing
  • Regenda Homes
  • Your Housing Group
  • One Vision Housing

Ahead of Bonfire night, we have an illegal bonfire removal taskforce 'The Good Guys' who will respond to your reports of illegal bonfires being built and remove them before they are lit.

This isn't to be kill joys or ruin traditions going back generations, it is to protect the environment, people and property from the harms of out of control fires.

From Monday 23rd October - Friday 3rd November we are asking residents to help us, and your community, by reporting illegal bonfires being built in public spaces: such as parks, playgrounds, streets or on grassland. Before they have the chance to be lit and cause damage and nuisance.
