Merseyside Police- Policing Operation

St.Helens Council continues to work closely with Merseyside Police and are continuing to ask our communities to be vigilant and to look out for each other.

As a precautionary measure, we are asking all businesses to check their security and fire prevention measures:

  • Set any intruder alarms
  • Lock premises as securely as possible, using shutters or gates if they are installed
  • Check batteries in smoke and fire alarms are functioning
  • Ensure sprinkler systems are working effectively
  • Check CCTV is in full working order
  • Ensure that their keeper of keys lists and details are updated and readily available
  • While it is the decision of individual businesses whether or not they open, we would ask you to consider closing no later than 7pm.

We are asking all community members to ensure that their properties are secure and where possible, wheelie bins are out of sight and reach and alleygates to be closed shut.

We are asking builders to ensure that any risks caused by insecure properties, building materials or accessible skips are minimised.

If you have any information about the disorder or become aware of any gatherings or suspicious circumstances, please call us on 0151 709 6010 or email disorderinvestigation@merseyside.police.uk for information about criminality you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
