Crimefighters see justice dispensed

Local Crimefighters were given the chance to find out what really happens in the courtroom.

St Helens Magistrates Court opened its doors to 15 residents – who’ve signed up to the Community Crimefighters scheme - to see real cases unfold.

The event, organised by local magistrates and supported by the St. Helens Community Safety Partnership, spotlighted the court system for local people who support their own communities in the fight against crime.

Crimefighters is a training programme that helps citizens tackle crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour in their communities.

The event also included a question and answer session with a local magistrate, who explained proceedings. The Crimefighters were later given a tour of the cells.
