ASBO Breach Imprisonment

Darren Bolger, 39, of Sherdley Road, targeted vulnerable victims when he burgled a flat in Harris Gardens, St Helens on May 31.

The court also heard he was drunk in public on May 27, breaching conditions set down in an ASBO during April 2009.

Appearing at St Helens Magistrates’ Court, Bolger was sentenced to four months imprisonment for each offence and the terms will run consecutively.

Last year the Star reported how Bolger had been placed under an ASBO for repeatedly hurling drunken abuse at town centre workers and visitors.

Police gathered evidence of his “continuous” drunken behaviour and the court agreed to a series of conditions that Bolger should adhere to.

The ASBO states he must not: Cause harassment, alarm or distress in a public place or any place to which the public have access.

Drink alcohol in a public place excepted in and on a licensed premises.

Be drunk in a public place.
